Welcome to the Kāpuia graduate community of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Kāpuia is our version of an alumni association and has been created so our graduates can retain their connections with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
The name Kāpuia comes from a tongikura by King Tāwhiao:
"Ki te kotahi te kākaho ka whati, ki te kāpuia, e kore e whati." - When reeds stand alone, they are vulnerable, but bound together they are unbreakable.
This tongikura promotes ideas of unity, camaraderie and strength – ideals that align with the underpinning values of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Graduation is not the end – it’s the beginning of a lifelong journey and as a graduate of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, you become part of Kāpuia and a new chapter of your life begins, full of personal and professional growth. Kāpuia keeps our community connected to news, events and updates from other graduates of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
