Review dates:
Review timeframe: March – December 2024
Data will cover the 5-year period: 2019 – 2023
Overview:
We are currently undertaking a qualification review of Maunga Kura Toi – Bachelor of Māori Art to ensure the qualification remains fit for purpose, relevant, and meets the needs of our tauira (students) and community stakeholders.
By gathering insights from multiple sources, including a variety of stakeholders, we’ll be better equipped to determine if any changes or adjustments need to be made to the qualification.
This qualification review is running through 2024 and will cover the 5-year period from 2019 -2023 and include all strands: Raranga/Weaving, Rauangi/Visual Arts, and Whakairo/Carving.
Key stakeholders:
The review includes Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and NorthTec Tai Tokerau Wānanga (as another provider of Maunga Kura Toi). The key stakeholders are:
- Tauira and graduates of Maunga Kura Toi
- Iwi, local communities, councils, and employers connected to toi
- Tauira from other Te Wānanga o Aotearoa toi programmes
- Kaimahi (staff) who are connected to Maunga Kura Toi or related pathway programmes (Kāwai Raupapa, Toi Paematua)
Provide your feedback:
Community Stakeholder Voice Feedback form
- The focus of the feedback we’re seeking is about the continued relevance of Maunga Kura Toi – Bachelor of Māori Art and stakeholder needs for toi
- This form will take 5-10 minutes to complete
If you would prefer to speak directly to the reviewer, please email us and we will arrange a time to meet: qualitywahanga@twoa.ac.nz
Tauira Voice
Tauira and graduates of our toi programmes can participate in a survey to be sent in September. This will help us gain an understanding of their decisions and expectations when choosing to study toi at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Kaimahi Voice
Kaimahi have the opportunity to share their ideas, experiences, and aspirations for Maunga Kura Toi, and for toi more broadly via the feedback form, directly to the reviewer, or invitation to hui.
