Are you tired of health and safety in the workplace messages that are long-winded, too technical and barely interesting?
Then the new Just Bro-own It webisodes, that focus on improving health and safety at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, are definitely for you!
The webisodes, described as “not only exciting” but will “also make you safer”, take a lighthearted look at serious issues affecting health and safety in the workplace at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
The webisodes feature our hero Hohua, who in his unfortunate everyday life finds himself in harm’s way more often that not.
Hohua helps to answer questions like what do you do if you fall over on a stair at work and injure yourself.
Or what are the processes you have to follow where there’s been a serious accident.
The Just Bro-own It webisodes help you to determine what are the do’s and don’ts in these situations, who needs to be advised, and what paperwork needs to be completed.
Episodes help kaimahi to identify and resolve hazards or risks that can endanger the health and wellbeing of others.
They also take a look at how lax attitudes to safety on one person’s behalf can possibly result in injury for others.
Environment, safety and wellness lead Harata Samuel said TWoA wanted to create a learning resource for kaimahi and tauira that aligned with our health and safety framework and allows them to better understand the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Over the next two months, all kaimahi will be sent one link per week via email which will have a Just Bro-own It webisode and an E-Learning lecture with information regarding a Health and Safety procedure and process.
The webisodes and Schoox E-Learning modules are short, engaging and interactive.
Kaimahi who are also registered in a Tau Ora team can complete challenges related to the Just Bro-own It webisodes and Schoox modules to gain extra Tau Ora points for their team and go into the draw to win prizes.
